Chrysler Imperial Custom Southampton Two-Door 1963

The Chrysler Imperial, introduced in 1926, was the company's top of the range vehicle for much of its history. Models were produced with the Chrysler name until 1954 and again from 1990 to 1993 and the company tried to position the cars as a prestige marque. Chrysler advised state licensing bereaus that, beginning in 1955, the Imperial was to be registered as a separate make. It was an attempt to compete directly with GM's Cadillac and Ford's Lincoln distinct luxury-focused marques rather than GM's traditional and lower-priced brands, Buick and Oldsmobile.

This extremely well kept Imperial is completely original and rust free due to its original home in the desert climates of Arizona and Colorado and, with only 749 two-door Southampton Coupe's ever made, this has to be one of the best kept examples in the world. When first purchased, this car was particularly luxurious and fitted with almost every conceivable extra, all of which we believe work as new, including the air conditioning. Initially bought in Colorado, where it was kept and cherished for many years, the car then moved to a collector in Las Vegas and after its time in the bright lights, was sold to its third owner in Palm Springs, California where the last owner was introduced to the car. He then took the car on a road trip across America before shipping it back to his home in the UK following which Jag's Classic Automobile have acquired this stunner.

The original order sheets, invoices, brochures and handbook can all be found within the history file, together with every bill from various specialists. A useful service manual and even, intriguingly, the death certificates from the original purchaser are also present. With no rust, repairs or mechanical issues, this is an ideal opportunity for the new owner to live the American Dream.
