Aston Martin DB9 Volante 2006
Merely mention the words Aston Martin and immediately they're paired with a following 'DB' for your average person. 'DB' for David Brown, a significant owner and individual in the fabled British manufacturers history and perhaps more pertinently, 'DB' for the DB range of Aston Martins, undoubtedly the most recognizable of them all.
From the very first DB2, to the DB5 made famous by Agent 007, and here the DB9 in absolutely stunning form, the DB moniker has adorned a lineage of vehicles that will take some beating.
This DB9 is a Volante, the drop-top version and one that happens to be a very rare sight on Malaysian shores. Nothing quite beats the tune of that naturally-aspirated V12 in full song, especially with the top down. This unit comes fitted with a custom exhaust that brings this orchestra into full performance. It's memorable to say the least.
Speaking of that V12, the 6.0 liter powerhouse puts out a cool 420 lb-ft of torque and 450 horses. That's good for a 4.9s 0-60mph time. No slouch, especially for a convertible and its heavier chassis.
For a little touch of the owners preference, the car futures an original DBS bodykit that certainly brings out the best of this units sporty good looks. A pair of black wheels complete the look.
The mechanicals come in fully stock order save for the exhaust, with the car having been maintained by a well known mechanic who specializes in vehicles of this ilk. The suspension is tight and confidence inspiring while the engine is healthy and the gearbox matches up.
The interior is in great condition, with only minor signs of wear and tear expected for its age, going on fourteen years now. Mileage is relatively low due to its place in a collection amongst other similiar vehicles and it shows.
The car has been lovingly cared for by its previous owner, having been garage parked and enjoyed on the weekends. A mere drive is all you'll need to fall in love with this most exotic of vehicles, the Aston Martin DB9 Volante.
