Jaguar E-Type 'flat floor' Series 1 Roadster 3.8 1962

The Series 1 E-Type, and this in the highly coveted early "flat floor" variant. What more need be said? We'll amuse you though.

This early E-Type is the most valuable of the production models, with a mere 534 right-hand-drive units produced in both roadster and fixed-head coupe body styles. With the E-Types moving onto recessed floor pans in the proceeding years, the "flat floor" E-Types have taken a special place in the hearts, minds and indeed collections of the most esteemed classic car enthusiasts the world over.

This particular E-Type Roadster was imported to Malaysia brand new in 1962, with its first owners being Malaysian Royalty. This bodes well for the general condition of its chassis as we do not get snow here, hence no road salt and no nightmare rust problems!

This prized possession has now passed into the hands of its third owner, having been purchased from its second owner around the year 2000. In the past 18 years, the car has been thoroughly enjoyed by its now elderly owner, who commissioned a restoration a few years back. This E-Type was stripped to the bare metal, with many new parts including brand new wheels, chrome trims and lights, not to mention replacement rubber seals. The interior has also undergone a makeover, with fresh upholstery to add to the premium feel.

The car features a custom air-conditioning system (heater & cooler), ready to take on any weather. The mechanicals are in superb order, with no expense being spared to bring the vehicle up to standard. Bills from the current owner, dating back to the early 2000's are present and available.

A stunner such as this one is a rare sight, not to be missed.
